Hiring a designer

We're looking to hire an in-house designer. Our offices are based out of Manhattan, NY and Long Island, NY.

Design job would start immediately. First project is quite large, we need 200-400 paysite tours done. Flash knowledge is also a plus.

If you don't live in NY and don't want to move either, don't bother emailing.

I'm sure you'll fine "a"designer around here.
But, if you want a extremely talented one.

Your not gonna find what your looking for.
Even thou...I quit the design biz...for my own work and personal work for Netpond gang.

Instead of looking for a designer willing to go in house maybe somewhat easy..despending on what you'll pay.
But, you'll have headaches if your looking for a excellent one wanting to move away from their home..
Especially NY..considering all the shit thats gone on there lately.

Is there a reason they "HAVE" to move to NY?
Cuz...your not gonna find a top "quality" one that's willing to make those changes.

If it was me...I'd hire the best one money could buy...regaurdless of where they lived.

Bottom line is results...not location.

I agree that if you live in an area like NYC it may be more cost effective to hire designers outside the city. They don't need to be on location.

Having worked with many designers there are a few things to look for when working with an off location designer. I've played, "Hurry up and wait" too many times.
