Need code to stop surfer downloading images

Hello all

I am in a spot where I need to stop an image from being downloaded by the surfer, but while still leaving it on one of my pages ... I know this can be done, just dont have the first idea how :huh:

Please answer me this and Ill give you a newborn kitten, theyre really cute LOL

one easy thing you can do is disable the right mouse click on the page so they cant click save as etc.

Now thats not a perfect solution since the surfer can still go to the tool bar, click view source and get to the pics url that way, but guess there will be much less surfers doing that.

There are other was in showing pics with java applets but cant find any atm. maybe ya find something over here:

They have a couple real nice programs. I have not bought them yet, because I have been searching for similar software, so far this is the best I have found.

Keep in mind that pretty much all you can do is try to prevent people who don't really know much from right-clicking the image and saving it.

If the image is displayed on your page then it already has been downloaded. It's already on the user's hard drive in cache and in memory. It's too late to do anything. The only way to stop people from downloading your images is to not post them on a web page. Many people (myself included) even use browsers that can disable this kind of scripting... and I wouldn't be surprised if programs exist that can browse images and documents in a users cache and save them elsewhere easily.

I know this sounds pretty obvious but taking this to heart, my philosophy is that if there's any images that I don't want to give away then I don't make them publically available. Images that are given away for free are like the free packets of shampoo or laundry detergent that you get in the mail. Free for the potential consumer to keep and use.. just make sure that anyone who sees it knows where it came from. Paste your logo and/or url on it.
