What directory brings the more traffic?

Hi,
I have submit my new site to many directory. Some brings me 100's of visits each day but most only bring me 1 or 2 visits a day.

I am interested to submit my site to any directory or adult search engine but would like to focus on those that brings lot of traffic for now.

There is no simple answer. There are many different variables that determine if or how much traffic you get from directories.........do some reading in the Blogging forum to find out more.

Badwolf has said it all. There really is no specific answer. I run a number of directories, some sites receive lots of traffic and others don't receive much.

I have listed sites in directories, one site can receive lots of visitors another site receives hardly any and it's from the same directory.

A directory that gives you nothing in return is pointless in my opinion.

You have three sorts of directories. Ones that don't send you traffic but can help build your search engine rankings. These are generally just bog standard directories.

There is directories that send you lots of traffic, the best ones are hard to get listed in, ones that accept every site will only ever send you traffic for a while, once you get off page 1 your traffic drops.

Then there are directories that give you something back. For example directories that count incoming hits, these directories have a list of incoming hits on their front page etc and every time you send one hit from your site you get listed on the front page of that directory. Some directories automatically let search engines know when they have been updated. Some list your RSS feeds.

It's about looking at the directory, rather than just submitting. Submitting to a pointless directory is pointless.

Well.. given the three reasons, it looks like all three have at least one advantage. Therefore submitting to a directory can't hurt (besides wasting 3 minutes of your time).

Regarding the visitors amount, there are a couple of other reasons you may get more or less traffic from a directory, like how popular that directory is, or what people visiting that directory are looking for (if somebody gets into the directory to look for stuff x and you are listed as stuff y, you will not get hits), etc.

I am pushing over 4000 uniques a day through to my new directory via TGP postings, without having broken a sweat yet, so I would say there is definitely traffic to be had from directory postings.
