I need some advise about link exchange
Hello,
I have a new site (about 2 weeks old) and I did some link exchange over the last week. Not knowing what's best and what's bad, I simply exchanged links with whatever who wanted to trade with me. I would pay more attention to who I trade with if my site was a little older but I thought it could be good to procede this way at the start. Was I right? I have read that it's better to link with people in the same niche as you are but my site is more like a directory than anything else so it does not have a unique niche. So what kind of site should I trade with? Finally, many of the site I have trade link with are PR0, some are PR1 and some other have a better PR. For the time my PR is at zero, does it have a big importance what the PR of the site I trade with is? Here is the site: That Sex Place (links are at the bottom of the page) Thanks |

search engine robots are not human, they can only "read" what your site is from the words on your site
just according to what i know... if you post tranny pics and write about lesbians, the search engine will think your site is only about lesbians |

Madcaptains here is a detailed replied on your questions:
Its best to get hardlinks from sites that are in your own niche or have the same particular content as your own website. For example, if you own a directory get link backs from lesbian sites to that particular part of the directory. Another important thing to remember is that you should use your main targetted keyword as your anchor link on the website that is linking from you. If your looking prodominantely at "lesbian babe" as your keyword phrase then use this as your anchor link on the site that is linking to you. Remember only incoming links work, outgoing links to these sites have no strength at all. Another important thing to look at is ABC trades. Look to trade with people who have site networks. Link to their page and they will link to your page from another site on their network. These types of trades are becoming ever more important for SEO. Yes you should be looking at getting hardlinks from high PR pages however PR isnt the be all and end of getting traffic/SERPS. Of course your start off with PR 0 but try and link with even PR 1 and PR 2 sites to build up the amount of backlinks from higher PR sites. Try submitting your site to some higher PR directories which have "directory sections." These types of sites are indexed daily by Google/Yahoo and should enable the crawler to crawl your sites pages/content more often to start with. Hope this helps, if you need anymore advice just let me know. Last edited by Passionhole : 07-28-2008 at 06:18 PM. |

Maybe some more experienced ponders can clear this up but I have heard that linking to sites that SEO their sites in violation of google can ruin your page rank. If you're associated with the wrong crowd google will ruin your page rank.... Let me know if I'm wrong here...
