Traffic is the ingredient that brings you the sales.
But traffic is much more then just the stream from which sales are made. Traffic creates brand recognition in combination with advertising your site. Traffic from various sources creates SE listings and in turn more traffic. So basically we can say that besides the fact that from traffic sales are made it is also used to create more traffic. And that is the topic I want to dedicate this thread to: Ways to make more traffic with traffic: One of the most known ways is the use of toplists. By adding links to those on your site you get listed by how many "votes" and hits you send. The listing in turn bring back more fresh traffic and the game continues. More ways are to create a top referrer list on your page(s) by listing the referring sites by traffic sent you create a competitive enviroment that motivates the refferrers to send more traffic in order to achieve a better placement on your list. It's like a mini toplist on your own site. Taking it one step further: In this day and age many sites use tradescripts to automate the process of link exchanges and some like me even build sites intended for the sole purpose of generating and trading traffic. If regular scripted traffic trading is not to your liking try this little trick I have used before. It does not send you tons of traffic but it does send you VERY productive traffic. Create a trade site but instead of trading with the usual TGP's, and CJ2's only add toplists to your script. Send traffic by doing the regular promoting to create a little start up traffic and then watch the returns. The toplists sending back you keep, the ones that don't you delete and replace them with new ones. This way you will be left with a large list of good toplists and your traffic pump is running. Why would you want to set something like this up? Because when you are new to trading, or don't have a traffic base to tap from it is hard to get good trading partners because you send back so little most established tradesites will kill the trade. Toplists won't, they will keep your site on the list and that makes it a lot easier to get stabile traffic on your site. When you have a few of those running you can even start up regular trade sites and feed it from your toplist driven ones. Because you will then have a base to tap from you can send out more traffic and thus will be able to maintain the trades on that site. Hope this little tidbit of info helps getting your traffic empire off the ground |
