Have one question about Tags on HubPages??
Can I enter adult tags for my HubPages to get more traffic but I will not use adult content on that actual page??? Or should I stick just to normal tags????

Hubpages work like any other pages.
Yes, you could put a tag saying...sexy teens on your page and maybe get more traffic, however if you promise a surfer sexy teens and they find only blenders you will only piss them off, not make sales.
You would do better promising what you can deliver and hence making the surfers you do get much happier.

Thomas another question about hubpages.com you sad that they did not allowed hardcore pics, can you tell me what you definition of hardcore pics is?

Because is was looking at some hubs to get the idea of hubpages and i have seen lots of content on it with what i consider hardcore, stuff like gagging and sucking and licking some penetration.

So what is the deal here? (could not find a clear def in the TOD either)

I emailed the owner and he said they liked erotic but not hardcore. He said while they did not prohibit hardcore they would prefer no penetration. I think he is about to post something about it on Hub Pages very soon. He said when they decided to allow mature they were thinking about erotic and are working on a statement. I think to him erotic is topless pics. That was a week to 10 days ago. So that is where I got my information. I fear if people keep doing hardcore they Hubpages may ban adult all together.

OK Here is a perplexing question, I signed up with Adsense, finally went through thanks to Thomas,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Now I went to Hubpages and enabled hubpages to link to my adsense account and got a message in my account settings that its enabled. but on my hubpages I still see that message

"
This Hub is displaying Google AdSense ads, but you have not completed the AdSense signup or association process with HubPages. Sign up by following the instructions on the My Affiliate Settings tab on your my account page to begin earning money from these ads."

Again Im clueless

Ok I think I solved that question about the adsense the message seems to have disappeared So forget about the Adsense not being linked, I think it works now.

Next question for hubpages, When you go to GROUP, I am a bit confused, I know this is supposed to link the sites together,

Lets say I have 5 Hub Pages, All Celeb
Sites , 1,2,3,4,5

None of them are linked together yet

Do I go to Site 1, click on Edit,,,,,,,,,,then Groups...........then New Group Name Enter the title of Site 1? then finish

Then do the same with each site.

Or Do I just Do that with Site 1, then when I go to try to link the sites together, sites 2,3,4,5 I just say...............edit..........GROUP. and then the group would just be .........Name of Site 1.

That doesnt seem right
sorry this question sounds so hard to understand, but that pull down menu is a bit perplexing if you are just starting to use it

If your groups were celebs you would:
Go to site one click on groups click new and enter the group name celeb go to site two click on groups and select the group celeb you just made and so on with all your sites.

Yes, I've been with adsense since a few weeks after they started, maybe 4 years now and receive my cheques monthly. I'll dig out the confirmation email again from hubpages and reclick the link as sexappeal suggests.

Hey Thanks Thomas I think I am slowly figuring this thing out , it seems to be kind of workng now ............its great , and a super idea.

I noticed before that you said dont forget about the small SE sites that you can more easily get a higher ranking. I spent about an hour on google looking for SE submit sites and a lot of them are outdated, and Excite, Alta Vista and a lot of others seem to just use Yahoo for search.

Any great lists of good alternative SEs . I am making a SE submit site, and will add any to the list you guys suggest. So Far, I only have yahoo , MSN, DMOZ, and a few others. so any good smaller ones I will add and then you guys can use that SE submit page once its finished, unless you already have your own.

One more thing, do you actually place adsense on all mainstream sites that you have on free hosting services? or are some pages just there for the SEO benefits? I understand you're using Hub pages services there, I know that Squidoo has something similar, and obviously blogspot encourages you to have adsense on your pages as well, but what about geocities and other free hosts, do you put your code on them all? I am wondering about the risk here of Google tracking down a network of sites that way.

when researching keywords, I put them on Google between "____" to check their
competition

I had heard that this is a good idea and I agree
Sometimes I can go enter the keyword, Last night for example, I entered a whole string of them, animal and pet related

I got a lot with less than 1000 found, some with even lower, less than 100, which seemed odd,
Today I did the same words, then it said like 1 million found

the five minutes later, same words............1000 found

is google that quirky?

Do you have any hints on getting the stats from hubpages to refresh properly? I'm finding that alot of my hubs stats are off, because they haven't updated even after the time mark has passed.

i see a shitload of people using hubpages wrong.

People who just make a page, write a sentact then include like 100 fhg links.

This will ruin the site for everyone else, IE google will start dropping pages from the rankings. We will see but please dont abuse this. Im interested in gettting a script that clones hubpages features coded but its gonna be expensive. I want to get the script and run it on my own servers. If anyone else would be willing to split the coding cost and share the rights to the script id be down for that.

Or id create my own personal hubpages and charge membership to webmasters to re-coup the cost. I know how to build links and get a domain an authority in google, its not like im some noob

Its just the barriars to entry with a site like this are high because im pretty sure the script would cost several thousand $$ to code.

Yes Squizzle I have seen the same thing as you have. However I also saw those same pages rated way low on hubpages so low that spiders did not follow their links. So maybe there is some built in checks and balances at work?
We can ask people to try and do things right but unfortunately there will usually be some nimrod who won't.
What worries me most are the people who insist on hardcore (come on folks you know what hardcore is as well as I) If you can't find it in playboy then don't show it, make em go to the sponsor and make you both some money.
The people that insist on posting hardcore or claim ignorance, are likely to be the ones who bring hubpages to the decision to completely disallow adult themes.
