I don't really keep track of SE rankings for the Thumblogger blogs I built as a newbie but I've heard more than once that TB blogs are not doing as well as they used to with Google. That may or may not be true but it's a risk you take when you use free hosted services, you have no control over other blogs on the domain or the domain itself.

I prefer that one as well. I don't have a clue on how to set up 30 blogs a day like some people seem to do. I also think a person might lose overview of them all.

You have stated that it's not a good idea to link with blogs that show more free content than my own.

But how important is this?

It kinda puts a damper on things, because just about everybody is linking to FHG's.

Don't you ever have a really hard time finding good linktrades this way?

Well I do not link to fhgs (or 90% don't link to fghs) so most of my trade partners have more free content than my own. So what? Its for bosting search engine positions, surfer leak to partner's site is just a little price to pay. And anyway in most cases if surfer clicks one of trade links he/she is lost anyway, does notmatter if other site has more free content or not

You just have to make your blog a bit better, and look a bit harder for those linktrades. After all, it don't have to be linktrades....it can be post trades, page trades or whatever... use your own imagination.

In general you should try to display as much advertising and as few content as possible. If you link to sites that have more content and less advertising than yours, you're just loosing a reader.
And yes, if your blog is good, readers will come back often to read you and sooner or later you'll manage to sell something to many of them...

i think that's a little oversimplified. there can be many other reasons why a reader would stick to your blog even if another blog has more content.

yeah but don't you think that if surfer wants more free porn he will find it in google and the fact that you don't link to it does not block him from it. I mean surfers are not that stupid not to know that there are sites with more free porn than yours even if you do not link to those sites.
So surfer either like or don't like your site. Its not that he likes it more because yyou do not link to porn sites rich of free content

Yes, your site/blog should offer more than just "free porn". That's how a good blog writter will make the difference. (see second part of point 2 of my original blog).

Hey rvince I have some questions, if you could answer:

I'm making a post of about 100-150 words and I link in it a single keyword and also the picture of the sponsor gallery. Is it ok if I link the picture in my post to the hosted sponsor gallery, or I should link only keyword in posts?

If you don't know what I mean, please check one of my blogs in my sig.
Also blogs are around 1-2+ months old and they can't seems to get more than 40+ SE traffic a day...

Link with something that's meaningfull to the surfers. Something like "Click here to watch this scene" or "Click here to view <SITENAME> preview!".
Write for the readers, not the search engines!

you should link picture to something either to fhg or to the tour. If you decide that you are giving too much with linking to galleries, link them to the tour but do not leave pictures unclickable.
