TGP script question

What would be the best script for this--I want to build a thumb TGP/MGP that will use one size thumbs for pics, and a different size for movies, with the pic and vid categories run on rotation and the thumbs being served from the same DB. Is Comus good for something like that?

I have done it one one of my sites previously, but ran into trouble because the script I was using wasn't "supposed" to use 2 diff. thumb sizes, and I included the vids section with PHP so the thumbs could run off of a separate DB, but ran into trouble with the traff. trade part of the script.

Smart Thumbs will let you do that without any problems. It uses groups for thumbnail sizes. If you put pics in one group and movies in another, each can be whatever size you want.

Lookin at smart thumbs next, I'll be goin with it or Comus. Comus seems way complicated, and I'm scared of complicated, but I think I'll end up bitin the bullet and trying it out.

check out tgpx from jmbsoft.com. In the admin section you set the size for the pictures you want...there are several options and the customer service is pretty good...

yeah, it's nice....takes a little getting used to but it's been around long enough that any idea you have has already been tried and someone's already asked the question of how in the forums...it's pretty nice...i have 6 server licenses that I don't use tho their full potential...not enough time in the day....best of luck to you...

I got comus and installed it, and been trying to get it set up for about 5 days, it's just way too complicated for me, I don't know if it's because it's actually as hard as I'm making it out to be or if Im just a dummy, but as much as I want it I can't use it. Is that one easier to use?

I use both ST and TGPX. If u want to try things out I suggest go with a free one from ST. I might consider selling my paid version of ST in the future for 100 bucks, so message me if you are interested as I have a few laying around. Might as well sell some soon.

Took me two days to figure out how to output pages with comus.

Been using that script for two years now, haven't exprimented a lot with it.
Think you can't have multiple thumb sizes for each category.

Btw, what is the skim on the free version of Smart Thumbs?

You don't pay for script but they get your traffic instead, 1~3% don't know for sure.

Basically yes. When the surfers click on links that go through the scripts, it will take 2% of those clicks and redirect them to the site of choice of the author of the script.
