I'm using dw8 (paid not dl) and I think I will keep it for a long long time. I work in code-view and I do all my coding. I like dw just because I don't have to type the whole code, just few first chars and pressing enter. Otherwise I would work with notepad++. It's free and code have colored syntax. That is all you need.

Don't learn dw, learn html and you'll be able to work with any html or text editor.

But my starts was with frontpage. What a disaster that page was.

I'm slowly getting back into DW via CS4 and I downloaded Artisteer but havent had a chance to roll in and cause any damage yet, but i'm hopeful!

I have been using Dreamweaver and Fireworks CS3 together. It has been working fine for me.
