Well you need to generate it, unless you have a plugin for wordpress or whatever you use. But if your site is done manually, you need to generate it.. there are some tools out there that will crawl your site and make it but i cant remember the site, google "sitemap generator" or something along those lines and you should come up with something (free)

I've been using Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps to generate the file and submitting it to google but by putting a link on the page it probably helps other se's spider the page -- not just the big G.

I'm working in HTML btw -- other half is covering the the blogging side of things.

Finally, of the following pages, which ones do you target for the same keywords and which are closely related? This has been mentioned a couple of times but I'm not quite clear on the concept.

My best success has been the use of extending focus keywords/phrases as you work through ...

EG ... and a VERY rough and rudimentary outline, but you should get the idea and be able to THINK to apply it...

The whole scheme is simply scale, but CONSISTENCY works best long term.

Adding one per day is better than adding 5 once per week, but adding 1 three times per week and then 3 one day per week also works well.

End of the day, adding ANYTHING, ANYTIME is better than nothing ;-)

And it is a pleasure to give back to the biz that has done so well to me.

And nice at last to have personalities out of the issue.

Question of the moment is/was this thread as relevant today as it was when it first started?

From my noobish perspective, I'd have to say yes and quite possibly more so. With CTB's no recip trading format that he puts forth here I'm of the opine that google will smile more favorably on your site (due to the number of no recip backlinks available) and my current research indicates that there is a whole lot more no recip required places to submit too than there was on the first go round! As an added bonus, with more and more people focusing on the blogging side of things, doing a freesite is going against the grain and waiting times to be accepted at places of submission are next to nil these days! It's almost like rediscovering the wheel if you think about it.
