The adult business hasn't been a get-rich-quick type deal since 1994, give or take. As CTB said, you have to get off your ass and work on this stuff. Even if you only have an hour a day, if you spend an hour a day, 6 days a week, you will see results.

It's just like a regular job, the more you work, the more you get paid. Some people here make a nice income off what they do, yet still have a "regular" job, some people live completely off the income that this industry provides them, and some do this because it's fun and provides them with "pocket money".

One thing they all have in common is that they consistently put in their time, every day. Putting up a site and then sitting back waiting for checks to come is just a dream

Also don't get our comments wrong, we see a lot of new webmasters with very high expectations crash and burn horribly, so let's just say that we're giving you some tough love right now

Listen to what people have to say, think about what they say, and then do what you think is right. Don't outright do what other people do (since what works for them might not work for you), but take their ideas and their knowledge, learn from it, and do your own thing -- something that you think will work for you, the time you have to put in it.

As a side note, you should write down a daily plan. Take a spreadsheet and start writing down dates. Write down how much time you are going to "invest" on that day, and start writing down what you will do with that time.

Print it out, stick it on the wall near your computer. It'll give you more control over your time. Once you start getting checks, get them cashed, and either keep the voided checks or some printouts of bank statements and stick em right next to your time plan for that week/month.

It'll show you what your time investment has returned -- it's a great motivator
