OK SO I got my theme. But it does not have widgets. How do I make the sidebar widget ready? ORRRR How can I edit what is in the sidebar without making it widget ready? Thanks

Check out this site for how to Widgetize a Sidebar - it's easier than you would think. I'm not a genius with code but I got it figured out.
Ignore step one because you already have a functions.php likely. As long as you have a fairly recent version of Wordpress install you already have the widget plugin. I'm tweaking a wordpress template for my site and this is one of the things I had to do. __________________
